Tacos with shredded chick’n, jackfruit, and mushroom carnitas, creamy salsa verde, and minced onion with a side of beans and smoked paprika rice. GF tortillas provided.

Short History: Legend says that Carnitas were created in Michoacán, which is a state in west-central Mexico! However, other legends and stories say that it was invented in Jalisco, Queretaro, Hidalgo, etc. Wherever it was created, it is a dish that is now currently consumed all over Mexico, and all over the United States! The preparation of carnitas actually used to require the entire community’s effort, and so they used to pretty much only be served during festive occasions. These Tacos Carnitas from The Vegan Taste will provide you with proteins, fiber, a variation of vitamins and minerals, and more!

Reheating Instructions: Warm the filling over medium high heat, or microwave on high for 2 mins. Toast the tortillas if you like.
