Short History: Quinoa originated from the land surrounding Lake Titicaca in Bolivia and Peru and was used and cultivated by Indigenous communities – replaced by cereal by the Spanish. There is evidence that the domestication of wild quinoa occurred somewhere between 5,000 – 7,000 years ago.
