Gumbo

A classic New Orleans dish with jackfruit, and okra.

Short History: Gumbo usually is cited as a perfect example of the melting-pot nature of Louisiana cuisine – so much so that the origin and evolution of the dish is highly speculative! The name “gumbo” comes from the West African word of okra – which leads people to believe that originally it was made with okra. It is believed that gumbo has origins in French, Spanish, African, Native American, Caribbean, and German cuisines! This version from The Vegan Taste will provide you with fiber, vitamins, antioxidants, and more!

Reheating Instructions: Warm over medium heat in a pan.
