Short History: Teressa Bellissimo cooked leftover wings in hot sauce for her son and his friends as a snack one night in 1964. They loved it so much that they placed it on the menu of her restaurant the next day. A hot sauce salesman and the owner’s son then went on the road to promote the recipe – and it definitely caught on! It’s one of the most popular sauces in the United States, especially around football season!
