A smash burger with buffalo sauce, bleu cheese, cucumber, and crispy kale.
Short History: The hamburger has a contested history, with more than six chefs claiming that they were the ones to have invented it. Louis Lassen from Louis’ Lunch in Connecticut claims she invented it, with the New York Magazine backing her up. Some say it wasn’t technically a hamburger, however, because the bread was toasted. Charlie Nagreen, Otto Krause, Oscar Weber Bilby, Frank Menches, Fletcher Davis, and more all claim to have invented the hamburger! Funnily enough, there are many claims for who invented the veggie burger as well. The earliest recorded mention of the veggie burger comes from a 1948 episode of Let George Do It, where a character mentions “vegeburgers” – a burger made out of nuts and legumes. Whatever the history, this particular version from The Vegan Taste gives you a great source of protein, vitamins B, C & K, antioxidants, minerals like potassium and magnesium, and more!
Reheating Instructions: Warm the patty in a covered pan over medium heat for 2 minutes. Toast the bun if you like and fill.
