Short History: Chayotes are from Central America and were cultivated by the Aztecs and Mayans, and was a staple food of their cultures. Europeans spread the fruit to Europe, South America, and the Caribbean, and eventually was introduced to Africa, Asia, and Australia as well. In Australia and New Zealand is it usually grown on chicken wire, and in Trinidad and Tobago it is strung up from wire lines. Chayotes are a great source of folate, vitamin C, and zinc. Reheating Instructions: Warm over medium heat for 2 to 3 minutes. Warm the tortillas and fill.
